Google Time Slot Scheduling
Google Forms becomes a great tool to use for sign-ups when you’re able to limit the number of people who can sign up for a time slot or activity. To increment time in Google Sheets, you can use array or non-array based solutions. I prefer the array-based formula to increment time as it can generate a series of incremental time in a column in a flash.
Google Forms Picking Time Slots
Great for signing up for time slots or having students choose topics without doubling up. Version 2 uses spreadsheet functions to keep the results up-to-date, besides being more reliable when using limits. Appointment slots are useful when you don't know who needs to meet with you, but you want to make yourself available. You can offer people a block of time on your calendar that they can book time.
I love Google Forms. They are great for creating surveys and collecting data, but with the wonderful Choice Eliminator add-on, you can now use them for scheduling! Choice Eliminator allows you to limit the choices on a form question so that only one person can select an answer. For example, if you are scheduling parent/teacher conferences, you only want one person to be able to select a particular time slot. Once someone has chosen a slot, it no longer appears on the form for others. Below is a short video tutorial on using this cool tool.
